Data on the number of public schools throughout Uzbekistan has been released

The National Statistical Committee presented current indicators on the number of state secondary schools operating this academic year in all regions of Uzbekistan.

Bydatastatistics, by the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year there are 11,118 secondary schools operating in the country. This is 175 more than last school year.

The largest number of educational institutions are registered in Samarkand - 1,350 and Kashkadarya regions - 1,294. There are 1,119 schools in the Fergana region, 1,003 in Surkhandarya region.

There are 935 schools in the Tashkent region, 834 in the Andijan region, 783 in Namangan, 771 in Karakalpakstan. There are 598 schools in the Jizzakh region, 600 in the Khorezm region, 596 in the Bukhara region, 387 in the Navoi region, and 345 in the Syrdarya region.

503 schools operate in Tashkent.

Let us remind you that in Uzbekistan, a year’s preparation of children for school may become mandatory, and educational programs will be revised taking into account the introduction of game-based learning models.
